CPD accreditation for sharps safety awareness education course

Daniels is CPD accredited

As the leading provider of sharps and clinical waste containers to the UK healthcare sector, we have become the first sharps and clinical waste container manufacturer to have its safety training accredited by the independent quality standards organisation, the CPD Certification Service.

Achieving this status means that the ‘Training clinical staff in the safe handling of sharps and proper disposal of clinical waste’ training and learning activity has reached the required Continuing Professional Development standards and benchmarks after being scrutinised to ensure integrity and quality.

Our industry-leading support package for customers

The dedicated Daniels team already provides an industry-leading support package to customers, offering audits to ensure legal compliance with regulations and educational materials to support safe working practices. This latest plaudit recognises the value and excellence of the expertise, experience and free resources provided by the company to the healthcare industry.

Pete Williamson, Clinical & Sales Support Manager, Daniels Healthcare, said:

“I am delighted that we are now CPD accredited as it authenticates the quality training that we have been renowned for.

This is fantastic news for healthcare providers, nurses, and clinical staff as this nation-wide training will now officially count towards their personal CPD portfolios. It will also be of huge benefit to waste control, infection prevention, and health and safety teams because the training covers the safe handling of sharps and the proper disposal of clinical waste.”

With his direct experience in nursing and operating theatres, Pete understands the challenges faced by hardworking medical staff:

“Healthcare professionals have hectic schedules which can make it really tough for them to be spared for days of CPD. Not only is our training quick and comprehensive; the standardisation of the content means the competencies will be transferable and consistent across all hospitals and healthcare facilities.”

He adds that his ambition is to launch a live online training programme to make things even more convenient:

“While most of our participants enjoy and prefer face-to-face learning, I believe passionately in giving easy access to top-quality training. In the future, I’d love to see this course rolled-out online to give busy individuals a choice in how they access this free course. This will make a huge difference for frontline staff and help Daniels to ensure we retain our ‘second-to-none service and support’ mantle. Watch this space.”
