Reflecting on the past: healthcare in 1939

Founded in 1939, Daniels Healthcare has grown from modest beginnings as a family business into a leader in the healthcare industry, particularly known for our expertise in sharps and clinical waste management.

Our journey began at a time when healthcare and hospitals were vastly different from what we know today. In 1939, the world was on the brink of World War II, and the healthcare sector faced immense challenges. Infection control was rudimentary, and the concept of sharps safety was virtually non-existent. Reusable syringes and needles were common, posing significant risks of infection and injury.

In 1939, hospitals were dealing with basic infection control methods. Sterilisation processes were limited, and the risk of cross-contamination was high. The focus was primarily on treating acute illnesses and injuries, with limited resources for infection prevention. The healthcare landscape was a far cry from the advanced, technology-driven environment we see today.

Fast forward to 2024, and the changes are nothing short of revolutionary. The advent of advanced medical devices, stringent infection control protocols, and national awareness-raising drives have transformed healthcare. Daniels Healthcare has been at the forefront of these changes, continuously innovating to provide safer and more efficient solutions for healthcare providers.
