byThe importance of Sharps Compliance Audits in a hospital setting
Sharps compliance audits for our customers – just one of our ways of keeping you safe.
Keeping up with the many changes in legislation, health and safety and other clinical guidance can be a full-time job in itself. And if a setting isn’t compliant, the consequences can be serious. Many of our customers are in clinical or hospital environments which have a high usage of Sharps, as well as high levels of movement of staff and patients. It goes without saying that having strict Sharps handling practices in place, especially in these environments, is of paramount importance.
Our Sharps Compliance Audit service
To support our customers in meeting all the latest sharps-related regulations, we offer a Sharps Compliance Audit – as just one part of our value added services. We stay on top of what is needed and crucial in hospital settings, in order to keep infection prevention front of mind. On top of our regular audits, we also offer one-to-one or team training to work around the logistics of shift workers. It is important to not only keep the hospital environments in line with Sharps-related regulation, but also keep staff trained and “in the know” as well.
You can find out more about our Sharps training in this blog post from Pete Williamson, National Sales Manager and an ex-bank nurse with experience in operating theatres.
The reason we place such an emphasis on our audits (and training opportunities) is to help our customers ensure they are dealing with Sharps, and using Daniels’ containers, correctly and safely.
It’s worth noting that during our audits, we also check that best practice is being followed and highlight any potential non-compliance so that appropriate training can be put in place to address any gaps.
